Silvertips slip past Americans, 2-1
KENNEWICK - Defenseman Chris de la Lande’s first Western Hockey League goal lifted the Everett Silvertips to a 2-1 victory over U.S. Division-leading Tri-City on Saturday night at Toyota Center.
Everett (8-6-0-0, fourth in U.S. Division) got on the board first behind center Kyle Beach, who scored at 10:48 of the first period.
Shaun Vey tied it up for the Americans (12-4-0-0) at 12:39 of the second period. Just less than four minutes later, de la Lande lit the lamp off an assist from center Zach Hamill.
Leland Irving made 42 saves for Everett, which has won three straight.
The Silvertips now are off until Thursday, when they travel to take on the Edmonton Oil Kings.
